Although Dave and Charlie had grown up in the same neighborhood and had known each other since preteens, my first recollection of meeting Dave is probably sometime around 1984 or '85. I had a serious teenage crush on his sister Lorraine. We went to a lot of the same parties. Most likely over at Doug Nelson's house. Not long after that, I remember Dave and Eric Kreush coming to my shows when I was in a prog-rock band called Hardenfäst around summer of 1986. Hardenfäst had this wiz-bang hotshot spandex-clad rock-god lead guitarist named Robert McDaniel. Dave would sit there and watch his every move. Meticulously filing away every chop, lick, riff and hook in some kind of memory bank in the recesses of his mind.

Years later he and Eric created their own bands; Gypsy, Mad Apple and Dirty Boots to name a few. Mad Apple was probably the most ambitious and promising. They had a singer named Tim that could wipe the floor with me every night of the week. Talk about a dynamic vocalist....Damn. One ironic twist is that for a time Alvin replaced Dave in Mad Apple as the lead guitarist. And now here in 2001 Dave is replacing Alvin here in the Psychoholics as the lead guitarist.

We stole Dave sometime in March '01 from a band called Kozmic Kowboys. I hope they aren't too pissed.

It just seemed natural to us that Dave would become the 22nd person to join the Psychoholics.

He fit right in. Dave's weird.

As of Spetember 2003, Dave has moved to Austin to pursue other prjects and employment. We wish him the best and expect to have him back as a guest.
