ALVIN'S BIO

After Wes Ritchey's untimely departure from the band, we found ourselves once again without a lead player. We decided to post some want ads and addition a few. You wouldn't believe the weirdoes and psychos that showed up with guitars. We had about given up when our friend Eric Kreush suggested a guy he had jammed with before named Alvin Khoury, who was a bar manager at Tony Roma's.

I talked Tim into going down there where he was working and meeting him. Alvin comped us a few beverages and after a few, he seemed to be the type of guy that would fit in personality wise. However, we still needed to see him play.

We brought him in to audition and we just started playing. Alvin learned the song quick and started whaling out some leads awash in delay and chorus effects. He exclaimed "dude, that sounded just like Alex Lifeson!" We had to tell him that what we had just played was a pure punk song called Buttface. Long story short, we were able to teach Alvin the punk ethic, and it all worked out in the end.

In 1998, Alvin left the band with Doug and Artie to form Dynamo Hum. The hum had a run of about a year and a half before it went south.

Having tired of guitar, Alvin had begun picking up drums after the recent demise of Dynamo Hum. He decided to try jamming with us again, bringing along Hum keyboardist Steve Cohen. David Crisci soon came along to pick up the lead guitar duties.

This lineup lasted about a year, until Alvin departed once again.

It was late in 2003 when Alvin, bringing along another former Psychoholic Doug Nelson, found the nerve to return to playing music with Tim. Since this group of people resulted in too many people playing the same instruments, a second band, tentatively known as The Quitters, was formed, with Steve and Dave joining the project.

With an overwhelming urge to record the huge backlog of songs the band had accumulated as well as their new material, the boys decided it was time to combine these two bands and record a new CD.

Alvin is contributing guitar, bass, vocals and drums.
